The Venezuelan duo Mariella and Venero have presented their new conceptual album, 'La Vida Que Nos Tocó' (Deluxe Edition), comprising 13 tracks that chronicle the experience of migration in a sequential narrative. After nine years of residing in Mexico, a country they consider their artistic home, the musicians offer a work that combines their Latin roots with deep social reflection. The heart of this project is its 'Visual Life' format, a concept developed by the duo where the maracas, cuatro, and vocals were recorded 100% live. The album is accompanied by a 50-minute feature film available on YouTube, which weaves together visual song snippets with reflective chronicles about the life of the protagonist, a migrant named José Luis. According to the artists, the project has a dual objective: to seek empathy from those who have not migrated and to provide companionship to those who are living through this process. The duo shared messages of resilience for migrants. On their identity: 'We have felt like chilangos for a while now. Mexico is our musical home, and it is here that we have achieved our dream.' On the relevance of the theme: 'It is a theme that, unfortunately, will always be relevant from ancestral times.' A piece of advice for families: 'We have no choice but to hug those who are with us... so that loneliness does not increase.' About the future: 'Believe in the unlimited potential we have.' Currently, Mariella and Venero are in a promotion phase, but they have already started organizing their schedule to begin playing live in Mexico starting mid-year.
